In the summer of 2019, I found myself working in the legal sector and while I enjoyed the professional services aspect of the role, I wanted a fresh challenge. I decided to apply for a Client Liaison role at Francis Clark Financial Planning because I enjoy fast paced environments, client facing roles and, following a friendly interview process, I accepted the role.

Initially based in the Taunton office, I supported the team of two advisers and worked alongside one other Client Liaison. I received fantastic training that was structured and focused on bringing out the best aspects of me.

I quickly found my feet and was given the freedom to work closely with the Financial Planners and to liaise with the client directly. I felt well supported and enjoyed learning the new processes in the role while being able to challenge myself.

A year and a half after joining, I transferred to the Exeter Office to support my adviser and his growing team.

Life as a Client Liaison is fast paced and the role ever changing. We are responsible for overseeing the client process from start to finish, managing our adviser’s appointments and calendar, and liaising with different teams to meet client needs accurately and on time. Most importantly we are the first port of contact for our clients. No two days are ever the same and we spin a lot of plates. This keeps my role both interesting and challenging.

The most enjoyable part of my role however is the satisfaction it brings. I thrive under pressure and enjoy working with my adviser and colleagues to deliver an excellent financial planning service to our clients.

If you have excellent interpersonal skills, are organised, and manage your time well, then this is the role for you.

Francis Clark Financial Planning is a collaborative and friendly environment. We seek to bring out the best in each other. Employees from all teams are offered the opportunity to develop. However, most importantly you are supported as an employee by your peers and manager whatever path you choose. This approach is something I value and is quite unique to Francis Clark.

The Exeter Office is growing and currently expanding with new members joining both the Client Liaison and advisory teams, creating new opportunities for individuals and the team. I have enjoyed welcoming and integrating new members during this exciting time and I looking forward to the growth of the company and my role within it.
