“Our team has a spirit of openness where we recognise that we don’t (and can’t) always have the answer. Things are very rarely clear cut in HR. You often deal with a lot of ambiguity and uncertainty – so being able to chat through scenarios with colleagues in a safe forum is invaluable.”

“My team is fun and supportive, both of which are critical for working in HR/People teams. We speak everyday, anything from a quick call to talk something through to our weekly team meeting, so we feel well connected.

The things that make me enjoy my work at Francis Clark include the feeling when someone says “thank you” for a job well done, or the opportunities I get that help shape my ongoing professional development.

I also enjoy that I get to coach individuals to help them successfully navigate periods of change or specific challenges and help them develop. It’s really gratifying to spend an extended time with someone, going through thick and thin together and then achieving the right result. I’m proud to have introduced the firm’s employee listening scheme, so that people at every level of the business can have their say to help make the firm an even better place to work.

I’ve had a 15 year career as a HR Manager/Business Partner, spanning an entrepreneurial start up, private equity and Higher Education. It just feels ‘right’ for me to be here at this point. I’d never worked in Professional Services and wanted to expand my sector experience, so I’m glad that I’m doing that here at Francis Clark.”
