Join a specialist tax team, advising a mix of large corporates, international groups, owner-managed and family businesses, trusts and estates, and high net worth individuals. You’ll often work alongside colleagues in audit, deals and business advisory when the tax question touches the wider picture.
In our 140-strong team of tax advisors, you can build (or deepen) your niche while keeping your work varied. Your work could span restructuring, international tax, investigations, transactions, research and developer, employer tax or wealth planning.
If you’re an experienced tax adviser, you’ll value the autonomy to lead complex work, the scope to influence client decisions, and the support of high-calibre peers – alongside a clear progression path and the freedom to build your own tax niche.
You’ll be trusted with responsibility – leading pieces of work, spotting risk and opportunity early, and helping clients make confident decisions. And because you’re surrounded by specialists, support is close by when you need a sounding board.
You’d also be joining a team that’s recognised nationally: PKF Francis Clark won Best Employer in Tax at the Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2026 and were shortlisted for Best Regional Tax Firm.

You can see a clear route forward, with opportunities to specialise, broaden, or move into leadership. A typical route is assistant, senior, assistant manager, manager and then senior manager, director, partner – with expectations set out at each stage.
As you progress, you’ll typically move from delivering technically strong work to leading client relationships, coaching others, and shaping the approach on complex matters – while building a profile in the areas you enjoy most. You’ll get regular feedback and development support to help you take the next step.
You won’t work in a silo. You’ll collaborate across the firm – bringing specialist input into transactions, valuations, business sales and wider advisory work. That cross‑practice exposure helps you keep learning, build your network, and keeps things very interesting!
You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely, and you’ll also spend a fair bit of time in the office – because great tax practice is built on collaboration and coaching. Your local base will be one of our eight offices, and you’ll come in regularly to stay connected with your team and the wider firm. You’ll also benefit from development events that bring all our tax team together, including our annual tax conference and regular lunch-and-learns to keep you up to speed with legislation changes and the evolving tax landscape.
You’re likely to be a strong fit if you’ve built experience in complex tax compliance, advisory, or a general practice role with significant tax and client-facing responsibility. You enjoy taking ownership – leading on technical work, translating legislation into practical recommendations, and communicating clearly with clients and colleagues.
Absolutely! We want this to be so much more than a tax job. We have regular local socials and twice yearly regional socials, based around fun activities or food! We also hold an annual full team off-site gathering, which includes a conference, teambuilding activities, an evening meal and overnight stay. There are also organised charity volunteering days and team members can attend to one each year in lieu of working.
