We help clients understand VAT, customs and indirect tax in a way they can apply confidently – whether they need day‑to‑day support, assurance over risk, or advice on a one‑off challenge. We’re one of the UK’s leading VAT, customs and indirect tax teams, and we combine technical strength with a personal, collaborative way of working.

We’re a 20‑strong team across all eight offices (primarily Exeter, Truro and Poole). We enjoy what we do, we support each other, and because we’re distributed, we’ve built a team rhythm that keeps us connected and makes it easy to collaborate across locations and disciplines.

We work in a matrix structure that gives you variety and support and visibility – you’ll build deep specialist knowledge while also learning from colleagues:

• Sector and specialist teams – we share knowledge, approach and opportunities.
• Regional teams for coaching, line management and day‑to‑day support.
• You as the specialist – with flexibility to shape your focus over time

We work with clients of all sizes – from sole proprietors and owner‑managed businesses to national and international organisations and high‑net‑worth individuals. You’ll do a mix of compliance, assurance and advisory work. As well as registrations, returns and reviews, we advise on VAT planning and risk management, support property and restructuring decisions, handle disputes and investigations, and contribute to due diligence and transactional work alongside our corporate finance team.

We also collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver joined‑up advice that fits each client’s commercial reality.

We work in a hybrid way, so we can split our time between being together as a team and working from home. We hold a weekly virtual meeting for everyone and our local and regional teams typically get together in the office each week, and we run at least two full‑team away days every year.

• Client leadership – owning relationships, leading VAT projects end‑to‑end, and becoming a go‑to advisor for key accounts.
• Technical and internal expertise – developing deep specialism in areas such as land and property, international VAT/customs, not‑for‑profit or disputes, and supporting knowledge‑sharing and training across the firm.
• Broader tax and advisory roles – broadening into wider tax work and multidisciplinary projects where you’ll look at VAT alongside other advice
