By taking a proactive and preventative approach, we embed financial, physical and mental health and wellbeing into our jobs and our culture so that everyone here can flourish.
Initiatives to promote colleague wellbeing at PKF Francis Clark include Wellbeing Wednesdays, an ongoing programme of events and resources focusing on physical, mental and financial wellbeing, such as webinars with sports psychologists, dieticians and other experts. The firm also has a menopause support group, an LGBTQIA+ virtual group, as well as health and wellbeing champions and mental health first aiders in each office.

Financial wellbeing
Financial wellbeing is about feeling secure and in control of your finances. It is knowing that you can meet current and ongoing financial obligations, deal with the unexpected and make choices that allow you to enjoy life.

Mental wellbeing
Our mental health influences how we think and feel about ourselves and others, and how we interpret events. It affects our work and our ability to cope with change and life events. We believe it’s OK not to be OK.
Our support includes:
- Employee Assistance Programme with counselling and support for you and your immediate family
- Option to buy five extra days’ holiday
- Virtual GP and ‘second opinion’ services for you and your immediate family
- Employees can chat confidentially to trained Mental Health First Aiders across the firm
Physical wellbeing
Physical wellbeing is the ability to maintain a healthy quality of life that allows us to get the most out of our daily activities without undue fatigue or physical stress. It includes taking care of our bodies and recognising that our daily habits have a significant impact on our overall health.
Our support includes:
- Regular online workshops on topics such as sleep and nutrition
- Regular online exercise sessions, including live workouts and stretching exercises
- The firm sometimes covers entry fees for colleagues taking part in local runs such as Run Plymouth and the Michelmores Charity Run in Exeter
We’re signed up to the Menopause Workplace Pledge to show our commitment to taking positive action to ensure everyone going through the menopause is supported. Activity has included:
- Regular webinar sessions with experts giving advice on symptoms, nutrition and sex
- Informal discussion sessions to share experiences and tips
- An online menopause café
- A dedicated Microsoft Teams channel for people to discuss menopause
Medicash is open to all PKF Francis Clark and Francis Clark Financial Planning employees. The Medicash healthcare cash plan is a benefit that offers you a range of healthcare benefits and cashback allowances to help with a wide variety of healthcare costs. Up to four dependent children can be added to your plan for zero cost, up to 24 years of age if they are in full-time education. You can also add your partner or spouse for a small additional monthly fee.
