Maisie Adam, host of the awards, said: “The judges had a hard time picking a winner, but what tipped it was one of them saying: ‘I felt that this firm would be somewhere I’d be happy working.’”
This reflects our aim to build a workplace where people feel valued, supported and able to do their best work.
Faye Howard, head of tax at PKF Francis Clark, said: “Winning Best Employer in Tax is something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s a real privilege to lead our tax team, and one of the most rewarding parts of my role is supporting our people to grow in confidence and capability—often beyond what they thought was possible. This recognition is a testament to the culture we’ve built together and the commitment our team shows every day.”
Our tax team includes 139 colleagues working across different specialisms and we have built a culture based on collaboration, trust and shared success. This is supported by long-term career opportunities, with 32% of our tax team having been with us for more than 10 years.
We continue to invest in learning and development at every stage of a career and over the past year:
- 77 professional exams were completed by tax team members
- 18 colleagues qualified in professional exams
- 20 promotions were made across the tax team
- 36 people completed leadership programmes
- 98% completed accessibility training
- The team gave 615 hours to volunteering in their communities
Clear career pathways, regular feedback and strong mentoring help colleagues progress. Teams work closely together and share knowledge, creating a positive and supportive environment.
We also focus on wellbeing, flexibility and inclusion which helps our people balance work and life, while feeling confident and supported in their roles. External recognition includes ranking sixth in the large organisations category of the UK’s Best Workplace list for 2026.
Mark Bishop, people leader for tax, said: “Our people are what make this firm special and I’m thrilled to see our commitment to building such a positive culture recognised. To me, being a great employer means making sure talented people feel valued, supported and able to grow.”
As we continue to build on this success, we remain focused on investing in our people, developing future leaders and creating opportunities for long-term success. This award highlights the strength of that commitment and the positive experience of those who work here.
