“It took me a long time to get to where I am. I came to England over 20 years ago as a student. I then worked full-time in a restaurant while studying for my accountancy qualifications (AAT and ACCA).

It wasn’t easy to find a job as I hadn’t been learning on the job like most trainees do. A friend recommended PKF Francis Clark. I applied, they saw my potential, and here I am! I’ve continued to progress within the firm, my proudest moment is qualifying as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA).

I call my team “the A team” because they are the best. We are very supportive of one another. I feel lucky to be in this team. I came from a different country and have a different cultural and social background, but I always feel included and valued as part of the team.

I know I can always be myself and feel that my colleagues appreciate and accept me for who I am.”
